Mission of God - New Member Classes
|

If you are interested in becoming a member at Trinity, are interested in learning more about Lutheranism, or just want a refresher, please join us for The Mission of God! Classes will begin February 1 in the Parish Hall from 12:15-1:15pm. You are welcome to bring your lunch. Quilts for Missions
|
|
|
Looking for a way to serve in the new year? Help those in need by assembling tied quilts for missions in the Parish Hall on Fridays through March 27 from 8:30am to 2:00pm. Over 30 quilts have already been assembled and are ready to tie. Come for as long as you can! Bring a sack lunch if you plan to stay all day. Please join us for this project that will benefit people in our community and around the world.

New Women's Bible Study
|
|
Ladies are invited to join Deaconess Sharp on the 3rd Wednesdays at 9:30am or the 3rd Thursdays at 6:30pm at the School Campus to begin the new Bible study. The new themed study is a book called “Seamless” by Angie Smith. This book goes over the whole Bible and how to make it one complete, time framed story. There are videos that go with each lesson, therefore Bible Study will go about an hour and fifteen minutes. There will be no homework, it will be done together in the study.

Superbowl and Board Games Party
|
|
|
Everyone, including families, are invited to watch the Super Bowl! The Parish Hall will be open at 5pm on February 8. Don't care who wins, but want to hang out? Tables will be set up and bring your favorite board game to play. We will have toys for smaller children, but separate babysitting will not be provided. Bring your own drinks and an appetizer to share.

Track Coach Needed

If you are interested in being one of the middle school track & field coaches, please contact our Athletic Director, Reed Gwillim, at athletics@trinity-lutheran.com or call the school office to speak with him at 217-787-2323. There is a small stipend and the practice hours are flexible. The official track season runs from March - May.

Congratulations Pastor Tim Good
|
|
On Sunday, Trinity celebrated the ordination of Tim Good. We pray for him as he continues in the SMP program at Concordia Seminary over the next few years while serving at Trinity. Thank you to the pastors of the Springfield circuit for participating in the ordination service. Also, thank you to Women with Mission for providing the delicious desserts afterwards.

The Central Illinois District encourages its congregations to invite their members to
contribute one dollar per member per week for missions, in addition to their ordinary offerings. This kind of over-and-above giving is called "A Dollar for Missions" (DFM). Find out more here.

Woodcutter's Retreat at Camp CILCA

Saint Paul admonishes the Christians of Corinth to "act like men." Cutting trees, splitting wood, fellowship with other men, good food, and time in God's Word are all great ways to get started in this endeavor. You do not have to be skilled in using a chainsaw, hammer, or tractor to come to this event. Strong backs and eager hands are just as helpful.The study sessions will cover topics relevant to men navigating life in the modern age.The suggested donation for overnight is $25 ($10 for Saturday only). Women's Retreat at Camp CILCA

Calling all ladies to join us for our retreat on March 6-7. Our retreat theme is Pew Sisters: gather and celebrate our true sisterhood—our pew sisterhood!
Two choices for our retreat... You can join us overnight for $100 and stay in the Christian Growth Center. What to stay at home, but still want to come to the conference? There is a commuter option for $75. Registration opens December 27th.
