Fall Festival
|
|
Trinity family, the Fall Festival is this weekend! Bring a chair and enjoy the food, a bounce house, games like bags and pickle ball, carnival activities and more! It will be on October 18 at the School Campus from 3:00-5:00pm with a worship service to follow at 5:30pm with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders singing! Admission is free so be sure to bring the whole family and enjoy some fall treats and fellowship. This event will be moved inside if it is raining.

Cornhole Tournament Are you good at tossing bags? Do you enjoy friendly competition? Do you want to win a mystery prize? If so, the Men’s Group is sponsoring a cornhole tournament at the Fall Festival on October 18th. Assemble your team in advance or we can assign you to a team. Please let Shaun Opperman know via text to 217-725-0466 if you plan on competing.

The next regular meeting of the Voters Assembly will be Monday October 20th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. We will be covering general business and reports. This meeting is open to all communicant members.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! Trinity Lutheran is hosting an open house to celebrate Rev. Mueller, Rev. Sharp, Vicar Good, and Deaconess Sharp. Join us during the Bible class hour at 9:30am at the School Campus on October 26 to show your appreciation for these leaders!

New Wednesday Evening Adult Study
|
This Wednesday, October 15, Dr. Ken Schurb’s Wednesday evening discipleship class will switch to a study of the church’s early creeds. This topic will include the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, with special attention to the Nicene Creed in this 1700th anniversary year of the Council of Nicea. This brief (six-week) study will form background to a Wednesday night study of the Large Catechism after Christmas.

Trunk or Treat
|
|
|
Trunk or Treat is Saturday, October 25 2:00-3:30pm. We are looking for people to host a table/trunk! Fill out this form if you are interested in volunteering. Can't be there? Donate a bag of candy (or two!). Last year we had over 600 hundred people visit Trinity's campus and you can help us have a successful event by providing an extra bag of candy. Please turn in all donations to the bin by the Parish Hall coat closet on Oct. 19.

Trivia Night, Silent Auction, and Chili Cookoff
|
Trinity's Youth Group will host a trivia night Friday, November 7. Doors open at 6pm and trivia starts at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10 per person with tables up to 10. Babysitting is available. There will be a prize for the best dressed table with the "decades" theme! Tiger League will have a silent auction to raise funds for a new indoor physical education space. Chili Cook-off
MomCo will also be holding a chili cook-off! Springfield families are invited to warm up with a bowl (or two) at the MomCo’s Pots & Pals Chili Cook Off, a new community event bringing together cooks, neighbors, and plenty of chili.

The event starts at 6pm on Friday, November 7 at Trinity Lutheran hosted by MomCo. Local cooks of all experience levels are invited to compete for both Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards with prizes of $100 each. Guests can sample every entry, vote for their favorites, and enjoy fun side categories like Spiciest Chili and First Pot Emptied.

Sampling admission is $10 per adult and $5 for children 12 and under. Cook entries are $25 with a 2 gallon minimum. Donation jars at each pot will be available for full bowls with proceeds supporting MomCo.

Orphan Grain Train
|
|
The Orphan Grain Train, a Christian service organization, will be accepting donations in the parking lot of Our Saviors Lutheran Church from 9:30 - 11 on Saturday, October 25th. Items needed include used clothing, medical items, cash, diapers, stuffed animals, linens, walkers, crutches, hygiene items, and new underwear. A complete wish list can be found here.

Volleyball 8th Grade and Pink Night
|
|
Join the volleyball teams on Oct. 27 for our 8th Grade and Pink Night! All proceeds for the evening will benefit a Trinity family in need.There will be a silent auction, games, food, and other items to purchase. We will also be celebrating our 8th graders in between games. Games start at 6 and 7pm. Don't forget to wear your pink!

The Central Illinois District encourages its congregations to invite their members to contribute one dollar per member per week for missions, in addition to their ordinary offerings. This kind of over-and-above giving is called “A Dollar for Missions” (DFM). Find out more here.

Music for Missions – St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin is hosting a Sacred Music Concert and Hymn Sing in support of our Immanuel Lutheran Student Center, our LC-MS Central Illinois District Campus Ministry at Western Illinois University, Macomb, on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. We will join together in singing some hymns, and in listening to sacred organ, choir, vocal solo, and hand bell music, all under the theme, “Hymns of Our Heavenly Home.” Featured musicians will include guest organist Peter Wykert, vocalists Allison Harley and Jennifer Rosa, as well as the St. John's Hand Bell and Sanctuary Choirs. A free will offering will be gathered to help support our Immanuel Lutheran Student Center in Macomb, which is conducted under the leadership of Pastor Chris Hull. Refreshments will be served following the program. Please set aside the time to participate in and enjoy the music program, and to support our Central Illinois District mission work.
