Love Thy Neighbor Collection

Love Thy Neighbor is a middle school class devoted to service. This semester we are helping the APL, St John’s Breadline, and Phil’s Friends. We need your help and donations. We are collecting: clean, used t-shirts; plastic grocery bags; clean plastic containers with lids, tissue packs, lip balm, single toothbrushes and toothpastes, small fleece blankets, 6oz. Alcohol free mouth wash, 5 oz. fragrance free lotion, decks of cards, small puzzle books (sudoku, crossword, word find, etc.) Collection Boxes are located in the lobby of the Parish Hall and around the school building.

Bandmania!
|
Bandmania! is an annual event for Advanced Band students at Trinity School.
This year Joseph Gumz and Jack Grillot will have the opportunity to play with students from Our Savior's Band and the Home School Band in a joint concert with the Capital Area Concert Band.
Capital Area Concert Band is a group of volunteer musicians who have provided free concerts at many venues in Springfield for over fifty years. This annual event allows students from small band programs to gain experience playing in a large band with all the instruments represented.

The Central Illinois District encourages its congregations to invite their members to contribute one dollar per member per week for missions, in addition to their ordinary offerings. This kind of over-and-above giving is called “A Dollar for Missions” (DFM). Find out more here.

Camp CILCA is having a work day on Saturday, November 1 starting at 8:30am. Lunch is served at 11:30am. If you have a rake or leave blower, bring it with you.

St. Paul's Lutheran in Havana, IL (121 N. Pearl St. Havana, IL 62644) will be celebrating our 175th Anniversary with a Divine Service on November 2nd at 3:00pm. A catered meal will be enjoyed afterwards in the downstairs parish hall. If there are any of your parishioners who perhaps grew up in Havana, were once members here, or would simply like to join us in thanksgiving and the good gifts of Christ, please share this with them. If you or any of your parishioners desire to stay for the meal, please send in an RSVP to williamblessman@gmail.com so that we can ensure we order enough food. We cordially invite the Central Illinois District to join us for Trinity Lutheran-Peoria's Oktoberfest (noon-1:30) & Reformation Hymn Festival (2:00pm) on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 NE Randolph Ave., Peoria. Under the direction of our Cantor Peter Wykert, the hymn festival theme is "God Is Our Refuge", focusing on Psalm 46. Musical selections will include choral and congregational singing with organ, piano, brass, percussion, and contemporary instrumentation. All Central Illinois District singers are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the choir. If you are interested in doing so, contact Cantor Peter Wykert at peterwykert@trinitypeoria.com. You will be provided with practice tracks and PDF's of the music notation. All are invited to join us for food and fellowship at our Oktoberfest Meal, served from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the gym at Trinity. The menu includes: Sausages, Schnitzel, Potatoes, apple sauce, and homemade Sauerkraut. So that Trinity can prepare accordingly, we do ask for people to RSVP by October 20.
