GoFundMe for the Orrick family

On the morning of January 3, Chris Orrick, husband to Julie, Trinity's Two Year Old Town teacher, suffered a stroke and was admitted to Springfield Memorial Hospital. The EMTs and staff worked fast to save his life. Since that time, he has undergone surgery and is making progress.
As parents of five children, Chris and his wife Julie have the normal struggles of keeping up with finances that a household that large requires. Chris's stroke has unfortunately placed them in a position where they are in need of your help! Anything you can offer to help the Orrick family with medical bills and to keep their household running is greatly appreciated! Access the GoFundMe link here.

Track Coach Needed

If you are interested in being one of the middle school track & field coaches, please contact our Athletic Director, Reed Gwillim, at athletics@trinity-lutheran.com or call the school office to speak with him at 217-787-2323. There is a small stipend and the practice hours are flexible. The official track season runs from March - May.

Ending balance - $7,439

Mission Results

  • The Trinity Food Pantry served 11 families in 2025, 22 adults and 19 children.
  • These families include Trinity members, school staff, and individuals referred by
    our members.
  • Some families received help every month, others for only one or two months.
  • In addition to financial support in the form of grocery store gift cards, families
received 2-6 bags of groceries and household supplies each month. This totaled
approximately 120 bags for the year.
  • The groceries and supplies were donated by members at our monthly collections,
by school families during the Thanksgiving food drive, and by members using
Thrivent cards to shop and refill our pantry shelves.
Notes: (1) Envelope donations accounted for 75% of the total, with eGiving making up
25%.
(2) All of the grocery store cards were purchased through the Lutheran High Shoppers Blessings program. LuHi gets a rebate of 3-5% of the value of the cards.
