Celebration Concert Everyone is invited to a free concert featuring pieces on organ, violin, and other instruments. Area musicians will preform in honor of Trinity's music director and organist, Laura Fliege. The concert will be August 9 at 3pm at the Downtown Campus Light refreshments will be served after.

Men's Bible Study Location Change
|
|
On August 15, Men's Bible Study will be held in the Parish Hall at 9:30am at the School Campus. This change of location is being made in order to reduce commute time for those who also wish to take part in the School Beautification Day. We will be wrapping up our study of the parables and choosing a new study. See you there.

Loss of a Spouse is a 2-hour seminar for people grieving a spouse’s death. It will be held Aug. 16, 2026 at Trinity's Parish Hall from 1-3pm. The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and widowed men and women. Read more

3 Hot Days in August: Commemorating the 1908 Springfield Race Riot

Friday, August 14, Pastor Good will be presenting "Joseph James" as a part of the "3 Hot Days in August: Commemorating the 1908 Springfield Race Riot". Together with Lincoln Home National Historic Site and Springfield 1908 Race Riot National Monument, Trinity will be hosting one part of the 4 day event. Join Pastor Good at the Downtown Campus at 12:00pm on Friday, August 14. Find out more information on the whole weekend of events here.

Youth Group Parent Meeting
|
|
Parents of students who will be in 5th-12th grade during the 2026-2027 school year are invited to attend a parent meeting on Sunday, August 23 at 12:15pm. Come hear about the youth group activities planned for this year. We also want to hear from you and your child. There will be a Google form to fill out for your input and feedback about the youth group and what we should learn about and what activities to do. Information about the upcoming Youth Gathering will be shared at the end for those involved. Babysitting will be offered for younger siblings in a preschool classroom. Here is the link for the Google form if you want to fill it out before the meeting.

Farmers Market Counters with Downtown Springfield Inc.
|
|
Trinity is working to help support Downtown Springfield Inc. by providing volunteers at the Old Capitol Farmers Market. We need four people each hour to stand on a corner and count the number of people entering the market. Sign up at this link to volunteer. Each time slot is 20 minutes long. You can choose as many slots as you want for whichever Saturdays work for your schedule.

School Beautification Day
|
Our property management team is hosting a School Beautification Day, and we need your help to refresh the grounds! If you love working outside and do not mind getting a little dirty, we would love to have you on the team.
|
- When: Saturday, August 15 at 9:30 AM
- Where: School Campus
- Action Item: If you have a Thrivent Action Team card to purchase bushes, outdoor plants, or flowers, please let us know!
- Donations: Generous donations of outdoor plants, flowers, or landscaping materials are also greatly appreciated.

Contributions Report – Thank you for your support of the Trusting In The Lord-4 capital campaign. Your contributions are greatly appreciated in providing for our $3 million in improvements at the church and school. Our remaining mortgage is down to just under $1.2 million. These funds finance our monthly mortgage payment of $17,500. Thank you again for your prayers and financial support.

Presentation in Observation of 25th Anniversary of 9/11
|

Pastor Bill Wrede is a pastor of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod who was serving on Long Island during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.He ministered at Ground Zero the entire day and continued to do so for the next nine months.St. Paul's, Havana will host a presentation on September 17, 2026 at 6:30pm in observation of the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Pastor Wrede will recount his experience and what it looks like to serve as a pastor in the midst of tragedy.
